Janice Stonewall, 66, of Rhodes, former longtime Marshalltown resident, died Saturday afternoon, January 19th, at the Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, January 25th, at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home with a time of fellowship and refreshments immediately following. Visitation hours will be 5-7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Private interment rites will be at a later date in the Rose Hill Memorial Gardens. For condolences, please visit www.mitchellfh.com. Born Janice Arlene Whitmore on May 23rd, 1941, in Albion, she was the daughter of Stephen and Goldie (Hauser) Whitmore. She attended school in the area of her birth. Janice was united in marriage to Carl Albee and to this union, four children were born. Later she married Harlan Wignall and they were parents of four children. On October 15th, 1976, at the Little Brown Church, she was united in marriage to Roger Stonewall. After Rogers death, she was married to Donald Scooby Scovill. Jan owned and operated her own beauty shop on North 7th Street, worked at the IVH and Brewsters with Roger. She enjoyed her family, bowling, fishing and flowers. Left to mourn her loss is her eight children: Donetta Steen of Marshalltown, Mark (Deb) Albee of Marshalltown, Rhonda Albee in Texas, Bruce B.J. (Stacy) Albee of Marshalltown, Lana (the late Danny) Clement of Rhodes, Angie Ford of Rhodes, Jack (Carrie) Magee of Bethany, MO., and Jill (Jeff) Welch of Marshalltown, two step-children: Monte Stonewall and Addison Stonewall, 25 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, her siblings: Wallace Whitmore, Lody (Jean) Whitmore and Everette (Janice) Whitmore all of Marshalltown, Verneta Rash of Ellsworth and Maxine (Laverne) Sinclair of Ferguson and several nieces, nephews and a host of friends. In death she has rejoined her beloved Roger, her parents, siblings Max, Jerry and Don Whitmore, Revola Farmer, and Audrey and Evelyn Davis.
