Jay Mancieri

Jay Nicolas Mancieri, 32, of Marshalltown, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, September 17, 2021 at his home in Marshalltown. Funeral services for Jay will be held on Saturday, September 25, 2021 at 2:00 P.M. at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home in Marshalltown. Visitation will be on Friday, September 24, 2021 from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. also at the funeral home. Family and friends are invited to the Riverview Park Community Building for refreshments following burial at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be directed to the family. Jay Mancieri was born on May 26, 1989 in Fort Pierce, Florida to Nic and Robin (Jensen) Mancieri. Jay had previously worked at JBS in Marshalltown for over ten years. On September 24, 2017, Jay was united in marriage to Daniela Alvarado in Marshalltown. Jay enjoyed traveling to California and Colorado and was a fantastic griller and cook. He was known as “Smokin J” and the “King of the Grill.” Most importantly, Jay was a family man; he took great pride in taking care of his family and was a great friend to everyone. Jay is survived by his wife of almost 4 years, Daniela. Children: Floyd Nicolas Carter Mancieri, Liam Jay Mancieri Alvarado, Benjamin Ortiz Alvarado and Emilio Ortiz Alvarado. Siblings: Nicole (Aaron) Jones of Marshalltown, Miles (Lauren) Mancieri of Newton and his “special brother” Roberto (Liz Alvarado) Bermudez of Marshalltown. He is also survived by his mother, Robin Mancieri (Piper Hastings) of Marshalltown; maternal grandmother, Sharon Jensen Wood; in-laws Teresa and Rodney Arment and grandmother-in-law, Vitalina Alvarado. Jay is preceded in death by his father, Nic; maternal grandfather, Richard Jensen; paternal grandparents, Maxine and Frank Tichy and brother, Mario Mancieri.
