Jay J. Selvog 37, of Marshalltown, Iowa passed away on Monday, December 12, 2011.Memorial services will be held 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 17, 2011 at Mitchell Family Funeral Home in Marshalltown. Selvog was born on October 17, 1974 in Marshalltown, Iowa; he was the son of Michael Selvog and Sharlene (Vern) Squier. Jay attended the West Marshall School District and graduated with the class of 1993. Jay loved to drive his semi across the country, experiencing all this world had to offer. He loved the open road, the thrills and the adrenaline rush. He loved spending time with his beloved brother and friends reminiscing about all the great times he had with them. He always made everyone laugh and he loved life. He could turn any bad situation into a good thing. Jay also enjoyed golfing, hunting, fishing and spending time with his brother at the bait shop and also traveling for a good southern meal.Left to cherish his memory is his daughter, Ivie whom was the apple of his eye, and cherished the time he got to spend with her, his parents;Vernon and Sharlene (Tucker)Squier of State Center; his beloved brother; Kenny (Carrie) Selvog of Marshalltown; sister; Debbee (Lamar) Alex of Sandy, Oregon; his nieces; Brittney J. (15), Ashley J. (8), Caitlin J. (8) and Caylee J. (8), all will carry on his name, nephew; Jordan; and many great friends. Jay and his brother, Kenny had a special bond between them like no other, this relationship could not possibly be put into words.Jay was preceded in death by his father, Michael Selvog in 2006; maternal Uncle, Kenneth Tucker in 1971 and his grandparents.
