Gloria “Jean” Scovill, 71, lifelong resident of Marshalltown, passed away surrounded by her loving family Wednesday, November 17, 2021 at her home while under the care of Iowa River Hospice. Graveside services for Jean will take place on Saturday, November 20 at 11:00 A.M. at Dobson Cemetery in rural, Garwin. Memorial contributions may be directed to the family for later designation. She grew up and received her education in Marshalltown, including her time at Marshalltown Community College where she achieved an Associate’s Degree in Computer Science. Hardworking and dedicated, Jean worked many years at the KIOWA foundry until it closed. In her free time, she enjoyed camping, fishing, boating and traveling, but most all loving and spending time with her family. Those left to cherish her memory are her children: Tim (Lisa) Lucas, Tammy (Dean) Hennick and Patti Johnson (Curt McKeever); her father, Bob; grandchildren: Nicci Chandler, Jeanna Nation, Kayte Moore, Cody Johnson, Jacob Johnson and Nathan Lucas; 16 great-grandchildren; her siblings: Peggy (Bobby) Washington, Carol Muenzenmeyer, John (Gleda) Scovill, Joe (April) Scovill, Debbie (Robb) Peck and Penny Scovill-Wise; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. In death, Jean is reunited with her mother, Shirley; life partner, Susan Lucas; grandson, Adam Johnson and her in-laws, Max and Marjorie Diggins and her faithful dog, Gypsy.
