Jeanne Helleso

Jeanne Helleso, 78, of rural Garwin, Iowa passed away Sunday, November 6, 2016, at St. Marys Hospital in Grand Junction, Colorado. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 12, 2016, at the Iowa River Church of the Brethren near Marshalltown, Iowa. Visitation will be on Friday, November 11, 2016, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home in Marshalltown, Iowa. Jeanne Susan Reece was born on July 14, 1938, in Clemons, Iowa; she was the daughter of Floyd and Helen (Moore) Reece. Jeanne attended school in the Le Grand school district graduating with the Class of 1956. She was always a proud member of the Le Grand Alumni. She then went to school at the Evangelical Hospital of Nursing in Marshalltown, where she received her RN Degree, graduating with the Class of 1959. On October 17, 1958 Jeanne was united in marriage to James Allen Helleso at the Iowa River Church of the Brethren. She had worked in nursing during her nursing career in Las Vegas and retired from Holly Hock Adult Day Care in 2005. She had been on the board at Iowa River Church of the Brethren and a member of the Tea Party Republicans. Jeanne enjoyed painting, yoga, tennis, biking, and enjoyed singing, as she was very musical and she would harmonize with her sisters from the time she was little and always would sing in the choir any chance she could, and enjoyed feeding her bird friends. Left to cherish her memory are her children, Jan (Larry) Warnick of Hartwick, Iowa; Jill Susan Fletcher of Moab, Utah and Joel (Amy Epstein) Helleso of Cheyenne, Wyoming; grandchildren, David (Tricia) Epperson, Sara (Jesse) Steinback, Michael (Annalisa) Epperson, Mark Epperson and Alyssa Fletcher; great-grandchildren, Logan Kaminski, Eleanor Kaminski, Evelyn Steinback, Brayden Epperson and Rowan Epperson; siblings, Joe Reece of Florida, Joan Welton of rural Garwin and Judy (David) Gusse of Dixson, Illinois. In death Jeanne rejoins her parents, Floyd and Helen; husband, James; sister-in-law, Sally Reece and brothers-in-law, Gary Welton and Jerry Helleso.
