Jeanne S. Hunter

Jeanne S. Hunter, 63, of the Iowa Veterans Home, died there Tuesday, June 14, 2011. Funeral services for Jeanne will be held at 1:30 p.m., Tuesday, June 21, at the Iowa Veterans Home Chapel. Visitation for Jeanne will be held from 1:00 p.m. until time of funeral service. Interment will be at the Iowa Veterans Home Cemetery where she will be interred next to her father, Gene E. Smith. She served her country in the U.S. Army. Jeanne married James C. Hunter on Christmas Eve and they were together for over 30 years. Jeanne worked several years at the University of Iowa Hospitals. She enjoyed life with her husband and her family, spending most of their time in Iowa City, Iowa and Tucson, Arizona.Jeanne is survived by her husband, James C. Hunter of Marshalltown; daughter Tye Hunter of Mesa, Arizona; brothers Jack (Rosanne) Smith of Polo, Illinois, and James Smith of Clinton; sisters Janice Bray of Camanche, Iowa and Janet Rickerl of Clinton, Iowa; two nephews, seven nieces and fifteen great nephews and nieces. She joins in eternal life her parents and two nephews.
