Jeannette Ann Long

Jeannette A. Long, 94, of Marshalltown, Iowa, passed away on Wednesday, March 13, 2019 in the comfort of her own home with her loving family by her side. Jeannette Ann Wood was born on November 6, 1924 in Marshalltown, Iowa, the daughter of Benjamin and Winnifred (Worden) Wood.  She was raised and educated in the Marshalltown School District where she graduated from Marshalltown High School.  Jeannette was united in marriage to the love of her life, Earl F. Long on January 13, 1946.  From this union three children were born: Barbara, Carolyn and James.  She was a hardworking woman making sure the family was always taken care of and helping with her special duties as the “Farm Hand”.  Jeannette was a proud member of the SCI club, Merry Mixer’s, card club, Bridge club and Farm Bureau.  She had a passion for quilting, handiwork, Bent and Wiggly Crosswords, reading romance novels (the nice ones) and eating chocolate (though she never really liked sweets too much.)    Left to cherish her memory are her three children: Barbara Long, Carolyn (David) Feazell and James Long; grandchildren: Amber (Yuri) Rice, Emily (Marty) Funke, Abby Keefer and Dale Feazell; great-grandchildren: Uriah Rice, Daniel Funke, Victoria Keefer and Josie Keefer; and very special sister in law: Mary (Dick) Frundle and family.    She is preceded in death by her husband, Earl Long, parents, Benjamin and Winnifred Wood and sibling, Richard (Delphine) Wood.
