Jeff Meling

Jeff Meling, 33, of Marshalltown, died Tuesday, May 25, 2010, at his home while in the care of his family and Iowa River Hospice. Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 27, 2010, at Mitchell Family Funeral Home. Visitation will be on Wednesday, May 26, 2010, from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. He was the son of David and Alice (Shetler) Meling. He graduated from GMG High School. Jeff was a lifetime Marshalltown resident. Jeff was employed at New Century FS in Albion and most recently Z Line Ltd. He was a semi driver and shag driver. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, hanging out with his brother, and Dum-Dum suckers. Since 1994, Jeff had camped at the Iowa State Fair with his family. He also enjoyed his dogs. Left to mourn his loss are his parents, David and Alice Meling of Marshalltown; his sisters Darlene (Gary) Koster of Gladbrook and Crystal (Michael) Van Donselaar of Oskaloosa; his brother Mike (Tonia) Meling of Garwin; his nieces and nephews Mikaella Koster, Blayne Koster, Timothy Van Donselaar, Lisa Van Donselaar, and KaeLynne Meling; his grandmother Charlotte Shetler; and his dogs Zip and Roxy.In death, he rejoins his grandparents Louis and Lucille Meling and Ben Shetler and his dogs Tasha and Sam.
