Jeff Rhiner, 60, of Marshalltown passed away on Sunday, August 19, 2018, in the comfort of his home. Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. on Wednesday, August 29th 2018, at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home in Marshalltown. Visitation will be one hour before service from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to the Mitchell Family Funeral Home for Jeff’s final care. Jeff David Rhiner was born in California on November 1, 1957; he was the son of Grant David and Elizabeth (Fisher) Rhiner. He attended school in the area of his birth. He has lived in Marshalltown for the past 6 years. He lived in Pismo Beach and Grover Beach, California for much of his adult life. Jeff was not able to work because of health issues. In California he worked maintenance for a large hotel. He was a conservative Christian and loved his Lord. He had a love for his dogs and children and was fun loving with all. He was always joking and trying to make people laugh. Jeff was blessed with a very artistic and fun spirit. In the past, he had many hobbies including collecting stamps and rare coins. He was a member of the National Rifle Association. Jeff was never married but had great love and respect for his girlfriend Letty until her passing 2 years ago Left to cherish his memory is his mother, Elizabeth Lulu Rhiner of Marshalltown; siblings, Julie (Lorenzo) Randolf of Washington state, Cynthia Young of Texas, Christopher (Tammy) Rhiner of Nevada, Mary Rhiner of Grover Beach, California and Katherine Snider of Marshalltown. He had many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles to whom he was very close including Jasper and Riley as he had helped watch them while living with his sister for 5 years. In death Jeff rejoins his grandparents, as well as father, Grant Rhiner, sister, Theresa Rhiner and special longtime girlfriend, Letty.
