Jeffrey Hoop

Jeffrey Hoop, age 65, of Marshalltown, passed away Tuesday, July 20, 2021 at the Iowa River Hospice Home with family at his side. Memorial services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Saturday, July 24 at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home with Bob Spilger, chaplain of the Iowa River Hos pice officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior. Jeffrey Hoop was born on December 3, 1955 in Marshalltown, Iowa, the son of John A. and Virginia (Snyder) Hoop. He graduated from the Marshalltown High School. He was employed alongside his father at the family businesses, Hoop Standard Station and Hoop Towing. He later worked with his cousin at Freiberg Eavespouting before rejoining his father. He had a good work ethic starting his employment career with a newspaper route. On February 15, 1990 he was united in marriage to Jackie Casterline. The two shared their lives together in Marshalltown and were blessed with the addition of daughter, Abby. He had previously been married to Tammy Jennings and they were blessed together with two beautiful daughters- Emily and Elise. Jeff thoroughly enjoyed time with family and friends, homemade noodles made by his mom, deviled eggs, fishing and golfing, watching westerns starring Clint Eastwood and John Wayne, and the Minnesota Vikings. Left to cherish his memory is Jackie, his loving wife of 31 years; daughters: Emily (Matt) Clawson of Marshalltown, Elise Hoop of Marshalltown and Abby Hoop of Marshalltown; eight grandchildren; his mother, Virginia Hoop of Marshalltown; siblings: Terri (Jerry) Coughlin of Marshalltown and Shari (Dale) Clark of Reno, NV, and many other family and friends. He is preceded in death by his father John Hoop, brother John B. Hoop and his grandparents.
