Jennifer L. Brown

Jennifer Brown, age 76, of Marshalltown, Iowa passed away on September 3, 2025, at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota.

Per Jennifer and her family’s wishes, cremation rites have been accorded. No formal services have been scheduled at this time. Memorials may be directed to the family for a later designation. Jennifer Lee Wignall was born on August 6, 1949, in Marshalltown, Iowa. She was the daughter of George and Esther (Groff) Wignall. Prior to transferring to nursing school and becoming a Licensed Nurse Practitioner (LPN), Jennifer attended school in the Marshalltown School District. On June 6, 1971, she married the love of her life, Stephen Brown. Jennifer worked as a nurse for many years and then transferred to Walmart for an additional 25 years until her retirement. In her free time, she enjoyed cooking, watching T.V., but most importantly she loved spending time with family and friends.

Jennifer is survived by her two daughters: Melanie (Caryn Jakielski) Brown of Joliet, Illinois, and Amy Gandy of Fort Dodge, Iowa; her siblings: Linda Wignall of Dubuque, IA., Carol (Doug) Benskin of Ashburn, VA., and Cindy Wignall Dirks of Marshalltown, IA., and several nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents George and Esther, and her husband Stephen.
