Jerald Miller

October 16, 2008 — October 16, 2008

Jerald G. Miller passed away suddenly on Thursday, October 16, at his home in Marshalltown, Iowa. He was born in Stanley, Wisconsin, to Jens and Cordlia (Shamberg) Miller, and raised in Owen, Wisconsin. He has one brother, Jeff (Mae) of Owen, Wisconsin. Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Joyce, and four children: Aimee (Gary) of Bussum, Netherlands; Brian (Heidi) of Farchant, Germany; Catherine of Berlin, Germany; and Debbie (David) of Janesville, Wisconsin. Jerry has seven grandchildren: Gary and Allison; Stephanie and Jennifer; and Abigail, Katelyn, and Benjamin. Jerry attended the University of Wisconsin and served in the U.S. Army. He worked his entire life in the beef industry, most of them as a manager and vice president for various companies. At the time of his passing, he was a part-time cattle buyer for Cargill and a member of Elmwood Country Club. Jerry loved life and lived it to the fullest. A dependable neighbor, loyal friend, and committed family man, Jerrys greatest pleasure was spending time with his wife, children, and grandchildren. He loved to travel, play golf, and attend the games of his beloved Green Bay Packers and Wisconsin Badgers. He was preceded in death by his parents. His family will host a visitation and remembrance on Sunday, October 19, at Mitchell Family Funeral Home, 1209 Iowa Avenue West, Marshalltown, from 1-2:45 PM, followed by a service at 3. Coffee will be served. Memorials can be made out to the University of Wisconsin Foundation-Badger Fund, 1440 Monroe Street, Madison, WI, 53711.
