Jeremy D. Amans, age 33, of Haverhill, Iowa passed away on August 18, 2024, at Allen Memorial Hospital in Waterloo surrounded by his family and many friends.


Per his wishes and his family, cremation rites will be accorded. A family-led celebration of life will be scheduled for a later date. Memorials may be directed to the family for a later designation. Jeremy Dale Amans was born on April 9, 1991, in Geneseo, Illinois. He was the son of Jeff and Peggy (Johnson) Oetker. Jeremy attended East Marshall High School and graduated with the Class of 2009. He later called Haverhill, Iowa his home. Jeremy held various jobs including concrete supervisor starting at Day Construction then continuing at Boulder Contracting as a foreman. In his free time, he enjoyed ice fishing, hunting, motorcross, and really liked to ride anything on wheels. Jeremy was a man of many nicknames, his close friends knew him as “Jerbear”, or “Jerry”, and was even called “Hombre Delgado” by the amigos he used to work with. He will be greatly missed by all his coworkers, family, and friends.


Jeremy is survived by his daughter Aubrie Amans, his parents: Peggy and Jeff Oetker of Backus, Minnesota, his siblings: Cassie Amans of Cedar Rapids, Iowa and Dustin Amans of Lynnwood, Washington, his friend and mother of his child: Tiffany Fouts, his two labs: Rowdy and Ruger, and many aunts, uncles, and friends.


He is preceded in death by both maternal and paternal grandparents, and his best friend Derek Williams.
