Jerri A. Lavender, 63, of Marshalltown, Iowa, passed away Monday, February 13, 2023.

Services for Jerri will take place on Saturday, February 18 at 11:00 A.M. at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home in Marshalltown with Pastor John Whitehead officiating. A visitation will be held one hour prior beginning at 10:00 A.M. All attendees are encouraged to wear casual attire.Memorials may be directed to the family. Born Jerri Ann Garrett on February 18, 1959 in Marshalltown, Iowa, she was the daughter of Howard Garrett and Barbara (Miller) Garrett. She was united in marriage to Denny Lavender in Bend, Oregon and the couple was blessed with four sons. Jerri worked at Jeld-Wen Windows and Doors. She was blessed to find love again when she met Don Boardman. In her free-time, she enjoyed playing pool and foosball, bowling, riding motorcycles, garage-sales and going to concerts. She loved summer and being on the water, especially swimming and kayaking. Jerri was the life of the party and a plant-enthusiast. More than anything else, she loved spending time with her family, especially her grandkids who all made her smile.

Left to cherish her memory is her son, Jeremy (Julie) Lavender; grandchildren: Skyler, Payton, Kaela, Thayne, Xavier, Xander, Owen, Caroline, Lincoln and Carter; great-granddaughter Dahlia; her mother, Barbara Garrett; significant other, Don Boardman; her sister Esther (Doug) Betts; sister-in-law Diane Garrett; best friend of over 50 years, Janet Robbins; several nieces and nephews and her beloved dog, Jasmine.

Jerri is preceded in death by her husband, Denny; her sons: James, Matt and Josh Lavender; her father, Howard; her brother, Warren Garrett; twin sister, Terri Ann Garrett and many aunts and uncles.
