Jerry Carlson, 74 of Tama, Iowa passed away at Grinnell Regional Medical Center in Grinnell, Iowa.As per Jerrys wishes there will be no formal funeral service. Phone 641-844-1234.Jerry Don Carlson was born on December 30, 1937 in Iowa City, Iowa, he was the son of Orville and Alma Carlson. On March 15, 1966 he was united in marriage to Virginia Uhde, they had lived in Tama, Iowa their entire married lives. Jerry had been employed at the Iowa Juvenile Home in Tama, Iowa. Jerry loved to fish, camp, but above all else he enjoyed the grandchildren.Left to cherish Jerrys memory are his children: Fran (Tom) Harrison of Toledo, Iowa and Jerry Carlson Jr. of Tama, Iowa, his grandchildren: Andrew Brownfield, Cheyana Brownfield and Jennifer Taylor, a sister, Joan Fant of Ohio, a sister-in-law, Rosie Davis of Marshalltown, Iowa and brother and sister-in -law Frank (Karen) Uhde.Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, Orville and Alma, his wife, Virginia in 2010 and his mother-in-law, Frances Collins.
