Jerry Dickey, 61, of Green Mountain, died Friday, April 27, at the Marshalltown Medical & Surgical Center. Funeral services for Jerry will be held at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Dillon, Iowa. Burial will follow services at the Green Mountain Cemetery in Green Mountain, Iowa. Visitation for Jerry will be held from 5:00 p.m. 7:00 p.m., Monday, April 30, at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be directed Jerrys name to either the Christ Lutheran Church in Gladbrook or to his family. Jerry was raised and educated in Green Mountain, Iowa and went on to graduate from the Green Mountain High School with the class of 1968. Jerry attended Barber School in Cedar Rapids. Jerry was married to Jeannette Hansen in Lake City, Iowa, on April 26, 1975. They made their home in Green Mountain and Jerry began his career as a barber in Garwin for over 38 years until the time of his early retirement in 2010 due to health reasons. During retirement Jerry remained active as a security guard at the Marshalltown Medical & Surgical Center.When Jerry had free time he loved to go fishing. He went on several fishing trips throughout his lifetime to Canada, Lake Michigan, Minnesota and Florida. Jerry also enjoyed traveling, playing cards with his card group and watching drag racing. Most of all Jerry loved to spend time with his granddaughter Presley. Jerry was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend and will be greatly missed. Jerry was a member and elder of the Christ Lutheran Church in Gladbrook, Iowa.Jerry is survived by his wife, Jeannette Dickey, of Green Mountain, his daughter Amy (Chad) Watson of Marshalltown, his granddaughter Presley Watson, his brother Mike Dickey of Green Mountain, his sister Deb (Gene) Hartwig of Marshalltown , his two aunts, an uncle and several nieces, nephews and cousins.Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, his maternal and paternal grandparents and his nephew Robert Dickey.
