Jerry Pierson

Jerry Stanley Pierson, 75, of rural Laurel, passed away on Monday, July 25, 2016 at Mary Greeley Hospital in Ames. Funeral services for Jerry will be held on Monday, August 1, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home in Marshalltown. Jerry Pierson was born on August 14, 1940 in Marshalltown to Bruce and Genevieve Veirs Pierson. He was united in marriage to Marie Slifer on June 17, 1960. Jerry had worked for Fisher Control for 30 years. After Jerry would get off work, he would come home and work on the farm. He loved his Charolais cattle and when he would call them from across the field they would come running to him. Jerry also loved to ride motorcycles, go camping and square dancing. Most of all, his pride and joy was his wife Marie and son, Rick. Jerry is survived by his wife of 56 years, Marie and his son Rick. Brothers: Larry Pierson and Richard Pierson and his sister Donna Manthey. Jerry is preceded in death by his parents Bruce and Genevieve.
