Jesse Fox

Jesse Fox, 32, of Marshalltown, passed away on Sunday, August 8, 2021 at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City.  Funeral services for Jesse will take place on Friday, August 13 at 2:00 P.M. at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home. Jesse will be laid to rest at the Center School Cemetery. Friends and family are also invited to attend a visitation from 12:00 P.M. to 2:00 P.M. on Friday, August 13. Born Jesse Bryant Fox on August 8, 1989 in Marshalltown, he was one of six children of Myron and Sheri (Beadle) Fox. Growing up in Marshalltown, he attended Marshalltown High School. He went on to work at Bonanza, work in construction and at Midwest Manufacturing. Most recently, he worked for Pentz Appliance and Vaughn’s Pub. On June 26, 2020 Jesse was united in marriage to the love of his life, Victoria.  He has always been great with kids and found great joy in becoming a father. Outgoing and always smiling, Jesse never knew a stranger. He cared deeply for other people and was always willing to help anyone who needed it. Jesse was exceptionally talented at pool and darts and was an avid Vikings and Hawkeyes fan. He also had a one-of-a-kind sense of humor.  Jesse was a great husband, father, son, brother, grandson and friend – an overall great person. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Victoria; children: Colten Mathes and Archer Deal; his parents: Myron and Sheri Fox; siblings: Jennifer Fox, Jeremy Fox, Jordan (Kayli) Fox, Jalexis Fox and Jacob Fox; “grandma and pa,” Nancy and Gayle Stalzer; grandparents Jim and Phyllis Fox; his beloved dog, Freya; a host of other family and many, many friends. In death, Jesse is reunited with his grandmas: Janice Smith and Sharon Fox; his aunt and uncle, Lori and Eric Bakke and an aunt in infancy, Angela.
