Jesse Nason

Jesse Michael Nason, 38 of Melbourne, Iowa, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, September 8, 2013. Funeral services will be held on Thursday September 12, 2013, at 1:30 p.m. at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home in Marshalltown, Iowa. Visitation will be on Wednesday September 11, 2013 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. also at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home in Marshalltown. Memorials may be directed towards the family. Mitchell Family Funeral Home is caring for Jesse and his family. Phone 641-844-1234. Jesse Nason was born on September 4, 1975, in Ames, Iowa to Michael and Cheri Welch Nason. Jesse attended the West Marshall School District and later went on to Marshalltown Community College. He was in the United States Navy from 1994 until 1998. Jesse married Jennifer Thomasson on September 29, 2001 in State Center. Jesse was employed for John Deere and was a member of the IAM Local 254 Union. Jesses interests were many. He loved sports and coaching his sons, hunting and being a prankster. Above all else; he enjoyed the time spent with his family. He truly loved his family and was so proud of his boys and cherished the times he went fishing with them. He really loved everybody and should have been the Mayor. Left to cherish his memory is his wife of eleven years, Jennifer and their children Grant (10) and Grahm (9). Parents: Michael and Cheri Nason and siblings: Matt Nason and Lisa (Justin) Nason Halter and their children, Emma, Evan, Colbie, and Livia. Grandparents: Paul and Colleen Welch and Shirley Nason; Mother and father-in-law, Scott and Kelly Penning; sister-in-laws, Samantha and Sarah Penning; and many beloved aunts, uncles, and cousins. Jesse is preceded in death by his grandfather, Max Nason and cousin, Brian Nason.
