Jessica Leeann Mcdonald

Jessica LeeAnn McDonald, 41, of Eldora passed away at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines on April 9, 2016 surrounded by her family. Funeral services will be Friday, April 15, 2016 at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home at 10:00 a.m. with a visitation being held Thursday, April 14, 2016 at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home from 4 6:00 p.m. For condolences please feel free to contact www.mitchellfh.com or call (641) 844-1234. Jessica was born on June 18, 1974 to the proud parents of Dwight and Debra (Seitz) McDonald. Jessica attended the Eldora School System and graduated in 1992. After her graduation she attended Kaplan University and graduated with an Associate of Arts degree. Jessica was a mother before anything else in her life, Alee and Beau were her pride and joy. Jessica was a family person and loved her nieces and nephews like her own children. She loved to watch them in all of their sporting events all year round. When she wasnt watching her family she was cheering on the Chicago Bears, Bulls, and Iowa Hawkeyes even though the seasons didnt always go her way. In 2001 Jessica was diagnosed with a brain tumor and was not given long to live. Being a resourceful and resilient fighter she held on for that year and 14 more. Jessica will always be remembered for her life as a daughter, mother, aunt, sister, and friend. Left to cherish her memory are her daughter Alee; son Beau, parents: Dwight and Cindy McDonald; Deb and Scott Seitz, brothers and sisters: Chad (Sydney) McDonald; Cindi (Todd) Andersen; Melissa (Eric) Brannon; Jodi (Mark) Solomon; Courtney (Aaron) Brinks; Jessica Seitz; Curt (Kassandra) Seitz, nieces and nephews: Jaxson, Taylor, Kynna, Colton, Logan, Caden, Christian, Abigail, Calvin, Maelee, Annalise and Katelyn, and grandparents: Donna Seitz; Merle and Anna Mae Vickroy She is preceded in death by her grandparents Bud and Ruth Aggen, and Wilbur and Mary McDonald.
