Jessie LeRoy Freland, 59, formerly of Marshalltown, IA, passed away suddenly in his home at the age of 59 in Guttenberg, IA on Sunday, December 17, 2017. Funeral services will be held on Friday December 22, 2017 at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home at 1:00 p.m. Memorials may be directed to the family to be used at a later date. Jessie had four children with Debra Abrahams and one child with Melody Boots. Jessie leaves behind his 5 children: Onawa (Jeremy) Maas of Austin, MN; DonNella Freland (Chris Krall) of Iowa City, IA; Jessie Freland (Heather Snyder) of Marshalltown, IA; Luke Freland of Stillwater, MN; and Stormy (Matt) Falkner of Olin, IA; 14 grandchildren: Robert, Breana, Samantha, Joseph, Natasha, Todd, Autumn, NaDeana, NeVeah, Alexis, Madysun, Jayden, Skylar, AeCha; and two great grandchildren, Hadlee and Braxton. He is also survived by 8 siblings: DeanNa (Scott) Wilson, LaWana (John) Frohwein, Yancy Freland, Dale Freland, Samantha (Thomas) Olson, Lucinda (Tom) Fisher, Teresa (Russ) Ewalt, and Evon (Larry) Nichols; stepmother, Jean Freland; and stepfather Steve Toensfeldt. Jessie is preceded in death by his mother, Doris Toensfeldt, father Melvin (Heavy) Freland, infant sister Melvina Freland, and his maternal and paternal grandparents.
