Ph: 641-844-1234. Born on February 16, 1941 in Marshalltown, he was the son of Sherman and Velma (Starks) Scovill. He graduated from the Marshalltown High Schools Class of 1959. Soon after, Jim served our country honorably in the United States Army for two years. On June 7, 1963, he was united in marriage to Alice Stuckmyer at the Elim Lutheran Church. They made Marshalltown their home all of their married lives where he had a colorful career designing for 40 years at Lowes Flowers. Jim was a faithful member of the Elim Lutheran Church and currently served on the church council as well as many others in years past. He was also a member of the Matins Kiwanis and held the position of treasurer for 40 years. He dearly loved his grandchildren, watching the ISU Cyclones, anything chocolate, was known for his carrot cake and was an overall people person- a guy who truly knew no strangers. Left to cherish his memory are Alice, his loving wife of 49 years, his daughter-in-law Sarah Scovill of Hudson, WI., grandchildren Emily, Josh and Ben, step-grandchildren Bella and Jonah, his brothers Don Scooby and Bob Scovill, sister Mary Helen (Jerry) Stanton in Oklahoma, mother-in-law Edith Stuckmyer of Minerva, brothers-in-law Walter Perkins, Larry Stuckmyer and Daryl Stuckmyer and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. In death, Jim rejoined his son Jeff who died last year, his parents, sister Margaret Perkins, father-in-law and two nephews- Kenny Perkins and Terry Stanton.
