Jimmie Dwain Hill, 83, passed away on November 17th, 2018 at State Center Specialty Care in State Center, Iowa.   Funeral services for Jimmie will be held on Wednesday, November 21st, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. at New Hope Christian Church in Marshalltown. Visitation will be on Tuesday, November 20th from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home in Marshalltown. Mitchell Family Funeral Home is caring for Jimmie and his family.   Born on October 17th, 1935 on the family farm near Lemons, Missouri, Jimmie was the only child born to Bruce and Maxine (Smith) Hill. He attended school in the area of his birth, graduating from Unionville High School Class of 1953. On December 22nd 1956, Jimmie was united in marriage to Phyllis Vorreiter at the home of her parents near Powersville, Missouri. They lived in various locations but settled in Melbourne, Iowa where they raised their four sons. Jimmie worked for Lennox Industries in Marshalltown as a welder and retired from there in 1998. He was also a member of New Hope Christian Church. Jimmie enjoyed woodworking, bowling, hunting and playing baseball with his boys and the neighborhood kids. He was proud of his family and loved the time he could spend with them. Grandpa always had a hug ready for his family when they came to visit.   Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 61 years, Phyllis. Sons: Roger Hill of Osceola, Jeff (Penny) Hill of Adel, Mark (Jami) Hill of Rhodes and Tim (Steph) Hill of Edmond, Oklahoma. Fourteen grandchildren: Ben Street of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Stephanie (Ian) Friedman of Marshalltown, Ryan (Pam) Hill of Castle Rock, Colorado, Emily (Ryan) Brault of Phoenix, Arizona, Annabelle Hill of New York, Morgan (Nate) Vance of Minneapolis, Minnesota, Tanner (Micaela) Hill of Springfield, Missouri, Lane (Kelsey) Kline of State Center, Kaitlyn Hill of Fairbank, Reed, Tate and Ben Buck all of Rhodes and Lilly and Olivia Hill of Edmond, Oklahoma. Five great grandchildren: Avery Hill, Mira Friedman, Ellie Brault and Kinsey and Connor Hill. He is also survived by his brother in law, James Fortune; sister in laws, Darlene James and Shelda King and his three cousins that Jimmie bonded with that he considered his own brothers and sister: Betty Roof, Lloyd Hill and Larry Hill.   Preceding him in death were his parents, Bruce and Maxine Hill; in laws, Hartley and Velma Vorreiter; brothers in law, Edsel Vorreiter, Hobart James, Claud Swan and Frank King and his sister in laws, Barbara Fortune and Linda Swan. Jimmie was dearly loved by his family and will be greatly missed.
