Jo Kjormoe

Jo Kjormoe, 68, of Marshalltown, passed away on Monday, March 24, 2025 surrounded by her children at Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames.

A Memorial Service for Jo will be held on Thursday, March 27, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home in Marshalltown. Jo Kay Harrison was born on October 3, 1956 in Marshalltown, Iowa to Russell and Marie (Benson) Harrison. She graduated from Marshalltown High School in 1975. On February 15, 1975, Jo was united in marriage to John Kjormoe. Jo had previously worked at the Embers Retirement Community from 1988 until her retirement in 2024 as the Activities Director. Jo enjoyed cooking and watching Food Network. She also cheered on the Chicago Cubs and Iowa Hawkeye basketball. Above all else, she loved the time spent with her family and grandchildren.

Jo is survived by her children: Kip (Heidi Draisey) Kjormoe of Marshalltown, Abby Kjormoe of Marshalltown and Ali (Rich) Green of Ankeny. Grandchildren: Brecken, Jordan, Ellie and Braylon and sister’s: Judi and Jan. Jo is also survived by her sister-in-law: Sara Robertson and brother-in-law: Craig Kjormoe along with numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.
