Joan Priscilla Kopsa

Joan Priscilla Kopsa, 73, of Conrad, Iowa, passed away on Thursday, August 21, 2014, at the Iowa River Hospice Home with her loving family by her side. Services for Joan will be held at a later date. Mitchell Family Funeral Home is caring for Joan and her family. Joan Calder was born on May 20, 1941, in Carroll, Iowa, the daughter of Jack and Cletus (Hufferd) Calder. She was raised and educated in the Glidden School District graduating from Glidden High School in 1959. Joan was united in marriage to Francis Kopsa on April 11, 1964, in Cedar Falls, Iowa. From this union, one son was born, Dave. She spent her working years as a secretary as well as a homemaker. Joan had a passion for cooking, baking, and making arts and crafts. Left to cherish Joans memory is her son: Dave (Jackie) Kopsa of Little Elm, TX. Grandchildren: Olivia and Holden Kopsa; three sisters: June Wagoner of Mosinee, WI, Ruth Calder of Waterloo, IA, and Lois (Doug) Hinde of Chicago, IL. She was preceded in death by her husband, Francis, in 2008, and her parents.
