Joanne M (Dixon) Donahoo, 77, of Union, passed away on Thursday, March 26, 2015 at her home surrounded by her loved ones. Funeral services for Joanne will be held on Tuesday, March 31, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. at Calvary Baptist Church in Union. Visitation will be on Monday, March 30, 2015 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home in Marshalltown. Memorials may be directed to the family. Joanne M Gummert was born on February 17, 1938 in Quarry to Herman and Ferne Long Gummert. Joanne had worked at Marshalltown Hospital in Central Supply as a supply tech and retired in 1989. In June of 2001, Joanne was united in marriage to Marvon Don Donahoo in Russellville, Missouri. Joanne was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church as well as lifelong member and secretary of the Quarry Community Chapel. Joanne enjoyed crocheting, cooking and baking, going to flea markets and garage sales, listened to country music and most importantly spending time with her family and especially her grandchildren. Joanne would always end a conversation with Keep Praying. Joanne is survived by her husband of fourteen years; Don. Children: Joy (Lee) Weeks of Conrad, Jan Robinson of Conrad, Jimmy (Charlotte) Dixon of Castlerock, Colorado, Jackie (Mike) Campbell of Union, Johnny Dixon of Plaquemine, Louisiana, Janie (Paul) Ferneau of Conrad and Kris (Scott) Jones of rural Eldora. She is also survived by numerous grandchildren, several great grandchildren, four step children and siblings: Marlene Gummert of California and Danny Gummert of Quarry. Joanne is preceded in death by her parents Herman and Fern, granddaughter Katlin Weeks, siblings: Warren Gummert, Johnny Gummert, Larry Gummert and Jackie Wells, step son Mark (Patty) Donahoo, son in law Joe Robinson and daughter in law Martha Dixon.
