Jody M. Perry

November 21, 1971 — February 2, 2025

Jody Marie Perry, a beloved daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend, passed away peacefully on February 2, 2025, in her hometown of Marshalltown, Iowa. Born on November 21, 1971, in Iowa City, Iowa, Jody brought joy and warmth to the world for 53 wonderful years. She was the cherished daughter of Joyce and Darrell Myers, and her life was forever marked by the love and memories created with her family and friends.

Jody's early years were filled with laughter and adventure, and she graduated from Marshalltown High School in 1990, earning her diploma and setting forth on a path of discovery. Life had much in store for her, and she embraced every moment with an open heart and an infectious spirit. Jody was married to Dion Perry, and from that union, she welcomed her son, David Perry, who became a central figure in her life.

In her later years, Jody found love again with her life partner, Ronald Hinders. Together, they shared a bond that transcended the ordinary, and they raised their beautiful daughter, Aeris Hinders, alongside Ronald's son, Caleb Johnson, whom Jody lovingly embraced as her own. Jody's family expanded further with the joyous addition of her grandson, David Perry Jr., who was the light of her life.

Jody is preceded in death by her mother, Joyce Myers, who will be dearly missed, and she leaves behind an extensive family that includes her father, Darrell Myers, her sister, Jenny Myers, and her cherished nieces and nephews: Maribel, Elena, Amador, Madi, Bella, and Isaiah.

Jody was known for her vibrant personality; she never met a stranger. Her kindness and warmth drew people to her, and her ability to engage in deep conversations about life enriched the lives of those around her. Jody loved to travel, try new things, and share time with her family and friends. She had a passion for bingo, crocheting, crafting, and a deep appreciation for music, which often provided the soundtrack to her life’s adventures.

In celebration of Jody's life, her family invites all who knew her to join them for a celebration of her life service, remembering the indelible mark she left on their hearts. They kindly request that anyone wishing to honor her memory consider making donations or sending cards during the celebration of life ceremony at Mitchell Funeral Home February 15 from 5:00-7:00.
