Jody Rae State

Jody Rae State, 65, of Marshalltown, IA passed away on Thursday, March 27th, 2025 in the peace and comfort of Iowa River Hospice.

Cremation rites have been accorded and memorial services will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family for later designation.

Jody Rae Alkire was born on November 28th, 1959 in Marshalltown, IA to Raymond and Patty (Atchison) Alkire. She attended schools in Tama-Toledo, IA.

She was united in marriage to Brian State, to this union were born Skylar State and Heather State.

Jody loved playing bingo and cards, doing puzzles and watching horse racing and football. Her favorite team was the Kansas

City Chiefs.

She is survived by her children, Skylar State of Seattle, WA and Heather State of Marshalltown, IA, sisters Valerie Alkire of Marshalltown, Heidi Doyle of Marshalltown, nephews Brandon (Morgan) Thorn of Marshalltown, Keaton Thorn of Marshalltown.

Jody is preceded in death by her parents and brother Jamie Alkire.
