Joe Chase

Joe Chase, 55, of Marshalltown, died Sunday, December 6th, 2009, at his home. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, December 11th, at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home. Born on November 10th, 1954, in Marshalltown, he was the son of Willard and Carol (Johnson) Chase. He received his education in the Palmer Elementary, Miller Junior High and Marshalltown Senior High Schools. Joe was employed at the Iowa DOT and Chase and Sons Tree Service. He was a member of the Moose Lodge and Alcoholics Anonymous and treasured his time with family- especially his daughters and grandchildren. He will be fondly remembered for playing the guitar, his sense of humor and being quite the jokester. Left to cherish his memory are his daughters by his marriage to Terrie Davis: Marci (James) Gibson and Sheri Castillo both of Marshalltown, granddaughters: Kierra and Lexi, grandsons: Cesar, Kristian, Brevon and Maverick, his parents Willard and Carol Chase of Marshalltown, brother Mark (Lori) Chase of Marshalltown, sister Lee (Phil) McAlmond of Dayton, Ohio and several nieces, nephews and a host of friends. In death, he has rejoined his grandparents David and Mabel Chase, Lawrence and Alice Johnson, a brother Michael in infancy and several aunts, uncles, and other family members.
