Joe A. Holubar, age 93, of Marshalltown, passed away Tuesday, June 21st, at Grandview Heights. Services will be held Tuesday, June 28th at First Presbyterian Church in Marshalltown, Iowa. Visitation will be from 1:00-3:00pm with a Memorial service immediately following. Masks appreciated at the service. There will be a private family burial later that day. Memorials may be directed to the family, to be designated at a later date. Joe Holubar was born on a farm near Ferguson, Iowa, on March 1st, 1929, to Joe and Ina (Paul) Holubar. On June 11, 1950, he married DeLoris Jacobs, at the First Presbyterian Church. He was a lifelong resident of Marshalltown, employed at Fisher Controls for 40 years and a dedicated custodian at the Presbyterian Church for 25 years. Joe loved fishing, woodworking, traveling, spending time in Northern Minnesota, attending Bobcat sporting events and proud to share his Bohemian heritage. He was happiest when he could be doing anything outside. His greatest joy was spending time with his family, especially his six grandchildren. Left to cherish his memory are his children: Kevin (Denise) Holubar of Marshalltown; Kathy (Van Nutt) Holubar of Madison, WI; and Kraig (Tami) Holubar of Newton, IA; his grandchildren: Jannae (Collin) Lane of Grimes, IA; Justin (Jennie) Holubar of Cedar Rapids, IA; Mary Swenson, of Denver, CO; Peter (Natalie) Swenson, of Cannon Falls, MN; Jacob (Kristina) Holubar of Colorado Springs, CO; Caitlin (Rebekah) Holubar of Alameda, CA; and eight cherished great-grandchildren: Adeline and Cora Lane, Macy and Taylor Holubar, Hank and Chip Swenson and Ryan and Alaina Holubar; youngest sister, Betty Fouts and his sisters-in-law, Louise Holubar and Betty Jacobs, as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. In death, he joins his wife, parents, five siblings, and infant grandson.
