Joe Louis Miller was born June 24, 1958 in Iowa City, Iowa. He was the fifth of six children born to Robert M. and Anna (Pinnell) Miller. He grew up in various communities throughout Iowa over his younger years and attended high school at Marshalltown High School. Joe enlisted in the United States Air Force where he was stationed at Whiteman Air Force Base and England. He was honorably discharged from service and returned home where he began taking classes at Marshalltown Community College.
Joe moved to Sioux City and began working for Sioux Merchant Security. He worked various postings over his 21-year career with the company and eventually got his own home and resided in Sioux Falls. He was an active member in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. In his younger years, he was involved with Boy Scouts of America. In his free time, he enjoyed doing Ham Radio and had his own handle. He was deep into working through his family history and creating genealogy. If you wanted to know anything about the family, Joe was your guy to talk to. He also enjoyed adventuring around the area and using his metal detector to find treasures. All together he was quiet and gentle but loved by his family dearly.
Those left to remember and cherish his memory are his siblings, Rita (Peter) Babinat and Maxine Miller along with numerous nieces and nephews and other extended family members.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Anna Miller; his siblings, Virginia Miller, Virgil Miller and Peggy Miller in infancy. He is also preceded by his nieces and nephews, Angie Marrs, Ronald Gale, Steve Brown and Jeremy Miller.
