Joel Bockes, 45, of Eldora, left our lives suddenly and unexpectedly on Monday, June 15, 2015. Funeral services for Joel will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 20, 2015, at Mitchell Family Funeral Home with Pastor Judy Marshall officiating. Public visitation will be held one hour prior to services. Burial will be held at Riverside Cemetery, at a later date. Memorial contributions may be directed in Joels name to his family. Born Joel Robert Bockes on October 3rd, 1969, in Marshalltown, Iowa, he was the son of Robert and Jane (Clark) Bockes. He graduated from the Eldora-New Providence High Schools Class of 1988 and then attended Ellsworth Community College in Iowa Falls. Joel was employed at Heavy Equipment Manufacturing in Grundy Center. Joel enjoyed listening to music, and Led Zeppelin was a favorite. Watching sports was a true love and cheering on the Buffalo Bills and Chicago Cubs was important to him. Joel also loved the outdoors, fishing and animals. Left to cherish his young life are his father- Robert Bockes, his brother Shawn Bockes, sister Heather Bockes-Cline, brother-in-law Kenneth Cline, nieces- Mariah Bockes, Katelyn Montgomery and nephews-Jonathon Cline and Conner Bockes as well as many friends. In death, he rejoined his mom Jane Bockes-Davis and grandparents- Milo and Genevieve Clark and Mary and Dale Bockes.
