John D Goodman

John Goodman, age 92, a life time farmer in Grundy and Hardin Counties, died June 9, 2026 in Grundy Center, Iowa.

John was born in 1934 to John Monroe Goodman and Flora (Wolken) Goodman in Dillon, Iowa. He moved with his family to Whitten, Iowa as a young child. He completed all his school years in Whitten, graduating in 1951.

He married Cora Larson after graduation. They had many good times together until her death in 2013. Cora helped with the farm operation and was supportive to John. They traveled the United States, occasionally taking their children with them. They were a social couple and had many friends.

John was preceded in death by his wife Cora; his parents; siblings, Darlene Paglia, Russell Goodman and Ernest Goodman; and son-in-law, Jack Mully.

Surviving are his two children, Judy Mully of Coralville and Michael Goodman (Terri) of Conrad; six grandchildren, Matthew Lewis of Williamsburg, Timothy Lewis of Cedar Rapids, Kent Lewis (Hannah) of Lutz, Florida, Emily (Eric) Lehmkuhl of Ames, Sarah Monner (TJ) of Clive and Samuel Goodman of Conrad; great-grandchildren, Harper and Kendall Lewis and Nora, Zoey and Amelia Monner.

A private graveside service will be held for the family. He will be laid to rest at the Conrad Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Whitten Community Church via P.O.
