John Tiny Wayne Jay, 85, formerly of Albion, currently residing at Glenwood Place, died Sunday, May 27, at the Iowa River Hospice House. A visitation for Tiny will be held from 10:00 a.m. 11:00 a.m., Thursday, May 31, at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home. A private family graveside service and burial will take place at a later date at the Albion Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be directed in his name to his family. The Mitchell Family Funeral Home is caring for Tiny and his family.Tiny was born May 31, 1926, in Collins, Iowa, the son of John and Inez (Price) Jay. He was raised and educated in Collins and graduated from the Collins High School. Tiny honorably served his country during World War II as a member of both the United States Army and the United States Navy.He was united in marriage to Doris C. Horning in December of 1958 and they made their home in Albion their entire married lives. Following their retirement from Fishers in 1988, Tiny and Doris enjoyed spending their winters in Mesa, Arizona. Tiny enjoyed golfing, boating and fishing.Tiny is survived by his wife of 53 years, Doris, his brother Lyle Jay of Newton and several nieces and nephews. Tiny was preceded in death by his parents, his son Kenneth in February of 1980, his siblings: Irma Keeler, Sam Jay, Dale Jay, Dean Jay, Rex Jay, Wanda Frazier, Donnie Jay and Evelyn Kern.
