John "Junior" William Roberts Jr., 61, of Marshalltown, passed away, Wednesday, October 6, 2021, at Unity Point Health ­ Marshalltown. To honor his wishes, cremation rites will be given and a graveside service and burial will be held on Monday, October 11 at 2:00 P.M. at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens. Mitchell Family Funeral Home has been entrusted with the care of John and his family. Memorials may be directed to the family for later designation. Born on February 28, 1960 in Marshalltown, John was the son of John William Sr. and Sadie (Shurson) Roberts. He and his two sisters grew up in St. Anthony. John worked for Stone Sanitation and Jiffy gas station. In his free time, he enjoyed fishing, hunting and reading sci-fi books. Those left to cherish his memory are his sisters: Judy Rysdam and Joan Ferrell; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and one great-great-nephew. In eternal life, John is reunited with his parents, John Sr. and Sadie and his special aunt and mom, Doris Harrison.
