John Michael Rook

John Michael Rook, 52, of Humeston, Iowa, formerly of Marshalltown, died unexpectedly on December 18, 2007. A memorial service was held in Humeston. For condolences, please visit www.mitchellfh.com. The Mitchell Family Funeral Home is caring for John and his family. Ph. 641-844-1234. John M. Rook was born on December 18, 1955 in Marshalltown to John R. Rook and Barbara Hof Rook. He attended Marshalltown High School. Over the years, John was employed at the Marshalltown Sheet Metal Works, Rockwell International, Lennox, ACI, and most recently, KES-Inc. John enjoyed being outdoors, camping, hunting, fishing, woodworking, trail riding with his mule, Tucker, and spending time with friends and family.Survivors include his son, Ray (Leah) Rook and two granddaughters, Kyley and Jillian, all of Colorado; his mother, Barbara Rook and brother James Rook of Marshalltown; sister Nancy (Ron) Johnston of State Center; nieces Kori and Kelsi Johnston; and nephews Cameron Johnston and Tyler Rook. John was preceded in death by his father, John R. Rook, and daughter, Jennifer Rook.
