Jose "Nono" Aguilar

Jose “Nono” Aguilar, age 24 of Marshalltown, passed away on Wednesday, December 10, 2025.

Jose Junior Aguilar was born on September 8, 2001 in California, the son of Jose E. Aguilar and Nancy Quezada. He graduated from Marshalltown High School in 2023 and was currently working toward a business degree at Marshalltown Community College.

Nono had a loving personality and always shared a smile with those in his presence. His family was the most important thing in his life; he loved them with passion and was protective of each of them. Nono was continuing his education to better himself and to provide for his family. Nono enjoyed sports, especially basketball; listening to music; and oddly enough, cleaning.

Left to cherish his memory are his parents: Nancy Quezada and Jose Aguilar; his love: Jezeila Camacho, and their child she’s carrying; his daughter: Catalenaa Angelina; siblings: Selena Quezada, Jasmeyn Aguilar and Brent Aguilar. He is also survived by his grandparents: Jesus and Angelina Quezada, and Edwardo and Esparanza Aguilar; adored seven nieces and nephews; and numerous aunts and uncles. He was preceded in death by his uncle: Chendo Quezada; and cousins: Rosemary and Lilliana.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. on Wednesday, December 17, 2025 at the Midnight Garden in Marshalltown. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, December 18, 2025 at St. Francis of Assis Parish – St. Henry Church. Per the family’s wishes, cremation rites will take place following services. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Memorial donations may be directed to the family for later designation.
