**Español** Con profundo pesar, despedimos a Don José Yepez Mora, quien partió de este mundo a la edad de 88 años, dejando una huella imborrable en quienes tuvieron el privilegio de conocerlo.
Nacido en el pueblo de Villachuato, hijo de una familia humilde y trabajadora, José aprendió desde joven el valor del esfuerzo y la dignidad del trabajo.
Junto a su amada esposa, Esperanza Andrade Cervantes, formó una familia sólida y llena de amor. Juntos criaron a ocho hijos, a quienes inculcaron los valores del respeto, el trabajo honesto y la unión familiar.
Su vida transcurrió entre surcos y sembradíos, donde sus manos curtidas por el sol y la tierra labraron el sustento con dedicación inquebrantable. Fue jornalero, cosechero, granjero y en cada labor puso el corazón.
A pesar de las jornadas largas y exigentes, nunca dejó de lado su amor por la lectura. Entre descansos y noches tranquilas, los libros fueron sus compañeros fieles. Con ellos descubría otros mundos, nutría su espíritu y encontraba un refugio sereno.
José Yepez Mora fue un hombre sabio en su sencillez, generoso con su tiempo. Dejó enseñanzas de humildad, honestidad y compromiso que perdurarán entre sus hijos, nietos y quienes compartieron su camino.
Hoy lo despedimos con gratitud y cariño, sabiendo que su legado vivirá en la memoria de todos aquellos que lo amaron.

Le sobrevive sus hijos: Olga (Fernando Guevara) Yepez, Antonio (Maria) Yepez, Ana Maria Yepez (Ramiro Alcocer), todos de Marshalltown, Iowa, Elizabeth (Juan Avalos) Yepez, de Villachuato, Michoacán, México; sus 25 nietos; 10 biznietos, y su hermana Adela Yepez de California.
Jose fue precedido en la muerte por sus padres Procopio y Antonia; su esposa Esperanza Andrade de Yepez; sus hijos: Jose Manuel y Maria de la Luz; sus hermanos: Jesus, Gregorio, Ambrocio, Guadalupe, Serafin, Juana y Tomasa.
Se ha programado una misa de entierro cristiano para el lunes 19 de mayo de 2025 a las 11:00 A.M. en la iglesia católica de San Francisco de Asís, Santa María. Se invita a familiares y amigos a asistir a una visita de 9:00 A.M. a 11:00 A.M. también en la iglesia, antes del servicio. Jose será enterrado en los Jardines Memoriales Rose Hill. **English** With deep sorrow, we bid farewell to Mr. José Yepez Mora, who departed from this world at the age of 88, leaving an indelible mark on those who had the privilege of knowing him.
Born in the village of Villachuato, in Michoacán, México, son of a humble and hardworking family, José learned from a young age the value of effort and the dignity of work. Together with his beloved wife, Esperanza Andrade Cervantes, he formed a solid and loving family. They raised eight children together, to whom they instilled the values of respect, honest work, and family unity.
His life unfolded among furrows and fields, where his sunbaked and calloused hands cultivated sustenance with unwavering dedication. He was a laborer, a harvester, a farmer, and in each task, he poured his heart into it. Despite the long and demanding days, he never set aside his love for reading. During breaks and quiet nights, books were his faithful companions. With them, he discovered other worlds, nourished his spirit, and found a serene refuge.
José Yepez Mora was a wise man in his simplicity, generous with his time. He left teachings of humility, honesty, and commitment that will endure among his children, grandchildren, and those who shared his path. Today we bid him farewell with gratitude and affection, knowing that his legacy will live on in the memory of all those who loved him.

He is survived by his children: Olga (Fernando Guevara) Yepez, Antonio (Maria) Yepez, Ana Maria Yepez (Ramiro Alocer), all of Marshalltown, Iowa, Elizabeth (Juan Avalos) Yepez, of Villachuato, Michoacan, Mexico; his 25 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren, and his sister Adela Yepez of California.
Jose is preceded in death by his parents Procopio and Antonia; his wife Esperanza Andrade de Yepez; his children: Jose Manuel and Maria de la Luz; his siblings: Jesus, Gregorio, Ambrocio, Guadalupe, Serafin, Juana, and Tomasa.
A Mass of Christian burial has been scheduled for Monday, May 19, 2025, at 11:00 A.M. at St. Francis of Assisi, St. Mary Catholic Church. Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation from 9:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. also at the church, prior to the service. Jose will be laid to rest at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens.
