Joseph 'Joe' Beurskens

Joseph Joe Beurskens, 51, of Marshalltown, passed away on Thursday, December 4, 2014, at the comfort of his own home. There will be no services held at this time with Mitchell Family Funeral Home. Mitchell Family Funeral Home is caring for Joe and his family. Joseph Beurskens was born on January 26, 1963, in Marshalltown, Iowa, the son of James and Shirlee (Dewey) Beurskens. He was raised and educated in the Marshalltown School District graduating from Marshalltown High School. Following High School, Joe went on to receive his Associates Degree from DMACC in Des Moines as well as obtaining his CNA Certificate- an occupation he treasured for 33 years. Joe was united in marriage to Tina Smoldt on October 10, 2009 in Marshalltown, Iowa. He was employed for many years with JELD-WEN Windows and was a manager for Auto Glass for 14 years receiving different awards for his hard work with the business. Joe had a true passion for NASCAR, working outside and fishing. Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Tina; children: Danielle (James) Gavagan, Andrew Beurskens and Zach Beurskens; step-children: Austin Ridout, Ethan Ridout and Gabrielle Ridout; 3 grandchildren; parents; James and Shirlee Beurskens; one brother: Cary Beurskens and 6 nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by one brother, Dean Beurskens and one sister, Carol Beurskens.
