Joseph Sterling Brown, 69, of Marshalltown, passed away on Wednesday, April 22, 2015 at Marshalltown Medical and Surgical Center. Funeral services for Joseph will be held at 6:00 p.m. Saturday, April 25, 2015 at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home in Marshalltown. Joseph Brown was born on April 27, 1945 in Marshalltown to Jesse and Annabelle Holcomb Brown. He was raised and educated in the Marshalltown School District. Joseph had worked for Fisher Control for over thirty five years and retired in 2000. Joseph enjoyed hunting, fishing, trap shooting and going to auctions and even had his own permanent auction number. Joseph is survived by his children: Jim (Stephanie) Brown of Melbourne and Jill of Missouri. Grandchildren: Michael, Daniel and T.J. and two sisters. Joseph is preceded in death by his parents Jesse and Annabelle, brother Jerry Brown and his companion and body guard Cleo.
