Joseph Hammer, 41, of Marshalltown, died Wednesday night, June 17th, at the MMSC while in care of his loving family and the Iowa River Hospice. Funeral services and a celebration of his life will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, June 23rd, at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home with Bobby Shomo, Chaplain of the Iowa River Hospice officiating. He graduated from the Marshalltown High Schools Class of 1986. For the past 20 plus years, he was employed with Kapaun-Brown in the heating and air-conditioning field. Joe treasured his family and enjoyed playing softball, darts, bowling, watching NASCAR and making his home with his cats, Misty and Mattie. Left to cherish his memory are his parents, Edgar and Pamela of Marshalltown, brother Mike (Candy) and their children Brady and Nicole of Marshalltown and Bob (Cindy) and his children Angela, Alyssa and Daniel of Ladora, and many friends and co-workers. In death he has rejoined his grandparents.
