Joseph B. Henely, age 77, of Rodman, West Bend, Iowa passed away on Saturday, June 27, 2026, at the Iowa Veterans Home.

Per Joseph and his family’s wishes, cremation rites will be accorded. Military honors have been scheduled for Friday, July 3, 2026, starting at 11:00 A.M. at the Ayrshire Cemetery with burial to follow. Joseph Benjamin Henely was born on December 10, 1948, in Ayrshire, Iowa, the son of Lee and Gladys (Cox) Henely. Joe graduated from Ayrshire High School. After high school, he proudly served his country in the United States Army from 1968 to 1974. He was a member of the United States Army Airborne “Screaming Eagles,” serving with the 101st Airborne Division. Joe was a proud graduate of the University of Iowa. He loved being on the farm. When Joe wasn’t in the fields, he could often be found listening to music or playing his guitar.

Joe is survived by his three sons: Kevin, Matthew, and Aaron Henely; his five grandchildren: Lydia, Grace, Isabelle, Reagan, and Hayden; and his four siblings: Bernard, David, Linda, and Debbie.

He is preceded in death by his parents: Lee and Gladys, as well as several of his siblings.
