Joy Barker

Joy Belle Barker, 66, of Marshalltown, passed away on Saturday, January 30, 2016 at the Iowa River Hospice Home in Marshalltown. Memorial service for Joy will be held on Saturday, April 16, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home in Marshalltown. Memorials may be directed to the family. Joy Seavey was born on September 25, 1949 in Iowa to James and Lucille Seavey. Joy graduated from Marshalltown High School in 1968. She went on to attend Marshalltown Community College to obtain her AA and also to Beauty School. Joy had been employed with Lennox Industries for 30 plus years. She enjoyed fishing, gardening, baking and sewing. Joy is survived by her son Joseph Barker and his wife Carmen of Cedar Falls, grandchild Jasmine Nimmo, mother Lucille Seavey and her brother Jack Seavey and his wife Lena of Laurel. Joy is preceded in death by her father James, great grandmother Ida Conger and her aunt Barbara Jo Anne Harsha.
