Joy Martens

Joy Martens, 95, passed away early on the morning of Thursday, January 18th, 2018, with family at her side. Her death came peacefully at the Iowa River Hospice Home in Marshalltown.           A celebration of her life will be held at the Hope United Methodist Church at Havelock, Iowa, on a date to be announced. She will be laid to rest in the Washington Cemetery at Havelock. The Powers Funeral Home in Pocahontas is caring for Joy and her family. The Mitchell Family Funeral Home is handling local arrangements.           Left to mourn her loss are three children son David (Mary) Martens of Pocahontas IA./ Mesa AZ., daughter Mary Jo (Lee) Vial of Marshalltown/ Mesa AZ., and son James Martens of Charolette, NC. and four grandchildren: Jeffrey (Donna) Martens of Ocala, FL. Vicki-Vial Taylor (David Miller) of Mendota Heights, MN, Valari (Pat) Beurskens of Marshalltown and Scott (Betsy) Vial of Lakeville, MN., and six treasured great-grandchildren.
