Joyce Brown

Joyce Ann Brown, 80, of Marshalltown, passed away on Tuesday, June 27, 2023 at Grandview Heights in Marshalltown.

Funeral services for Joyce will be held on Monday, July 3, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home in Marshalltown. Visitation will take place one hour prior to the service; starting at 1:00 p.m. Memorials may be directed to the family. Joyce Ann Coburn was born on August 28, 1942 in Des Moines, Iowa. She was the daughter of John Ralph and Maude Martha (Lynde) Coburn. Joyce graduated from North High School in Des Moines in 1960. On October 25, 1963, she was united in marriage to Leland Brown in Kellogg, Iowa. Joyce had worked as a daycare provider. She enjoyed watching children as well as having the honor of being a foster parent. Joyce liked reading, watching television and doing word search puzzles.

Joyce is survived by her children: Rhonda (Pedro) Gonzalez of Marshalltown, Randy Brown of Lake Park, Iowa, Becky Brown of Marshalltown, Jon Brown of Marshalltown, David Brown, Jeremy Brown of Marshalltown, and Melissa Brown of Des Moines; ten grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; and brother: Robert (Edith) Coburn of Des Moines.

Joyce is preceded in death by her husband, Leland and parents: John and Maude.
