Joyce Busse

Joyce L. Busse (Lempke), 84, passed away on December 31, 2016 at Grandview Heights Rehab and Healthcare in Marshalltown, Iowa. Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 6, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church in Marshalltown, Iowa. A public visitation will be held on Thursday, January 5, 2017 from 5 - 7 p.m. at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home. Lempke was born on July 19, 1932 on the family farm in Vincent, Iowa to parents Albert and Lucile (Duder) Lempke. Joyce attended Eagle Grove High School and graduated with the class of 1950. After high school, Joyce graduated from Fort Dodge Community College. In 1955, Joyce was united in marriage to Allen Busse at the Vincent United Methodist Church. Allen and Joyce raised their children in Marengo, Iowa. Joyce was very active in the Methodist Church helping teach Sunday school. She was also an active member in the American Legion, Order of the Eastern Star, and Beta-Sigma-Phi organizations. Left to cherish Joyces memory are her sons James (Lina) Busse, and Bradley (Valerie) Busse, grandchildren Brittani (Chris) Paquette, Bethani (Stephen) Bradley, Blake Brenner and Nicholas Minor, great-grandchildren Evelyn Rae Paquette and Ruth Aleithia Bradley, and sister Joann Shelton. Joyce is preceded in death by her loving husband Allen, brother James Lempke, and her parents Albert and Lucile Lempke.
