Judith Himes

Judith Ann Himes, 57, died Friday, September 26, 2008, at Mary Greeley Medical Center after a courageous battle with cancer. Memorial services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, October 1st, 2008, at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home. She will be laid to rest at a future date. A memorial bench will be installed in Judis memory with memorials so thoughtfully donated by family and friends. Friends may call from 6:00-8:00 on Tuesday at the funeral home. The Mitchell Family Funeral Home is caring for Judi and her family.Born on February 17, 1951, in Marshalltown, she was the daughter of Howard Francis and Betty Annette (Seim) Vint. She graduated from Marshalltown High School in 1969 and attended classes at MCC. On October 24, 1969, she married Patrick Himes in Phoenix, AZ. The couple lived in Phoenix for a year after their marriage, moving back to Marshalltown, where they have lived ever since. To this union, two children were born- Jennifer and Camden.Judi worked at Fisher Controls for 36 years as a nuclear parts specialist. She enjoyed spending time with her family and special girlfriends, cooking, camping, reading, boating, taking cruises, traveling, shopping, and being with her grandkids and attending their programs. She was a loving person who took care of everyone else. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Patrick Himes of Marshalltown; her children, Jennifer(Chris) West of Laurel and Camden(Sara) Himes of Marshalltown; her grandchildren, Lauren West, Paden Himes, Clifford West, Samuel West, Wyatt Himes, Gabrielle Himes, and Johnathan West; her siblings, Larry(Vicky) Vint of Dekalb, IL, William(Lisa) Vint of East Troy, WI, Thomas(Georgianna) Vint of Omaha, NE, Mary Sue Sam(James) Halter of Rhodes, IA, and Jon(Beth) Vint of Springfield, MO; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends. In death, she has rejoined her parents, her sister-in-law, Joan Vint, and her nephew, Chad Vint.
