Judith Ann Valentine

Judith Ann Valentine, 73, of Marshalltown, Iowa, passed away on Monday, October 28, 2013 at the Iowa River Hospice Home in Marshalltown. Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 1, 2013 at 1:30 p.m. at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home in Marshalltown. Visitation will be held before the service from 12:30-1:30 p.m. also at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers; memorial contributions may be directed to the Iowa River Hospice Home. Judith Ann Valentine was born on February 15, 1940 to Melvin and Ruth Kemper Valentine at St. Joseph Hospital in Ottumwa, Iowa. Judy graduated from Ottumwa High School in 1958. In 1959; Judy graduated from Merredian School of Practical Nursing Mercy Hospital in Marshalltown. In 1959; Judy started her 45 year career at Mercy Hospital and retiring in 2005 with Marshalltown Medical and Surgical Center. Judy was a very hard worker and enjoyed her job and was especially proud of her Employee of the Month Award that she received in August of 1984. Judy enjoyed country music and going to country music festivals and was an avid reader. Above everything else; she enjoyed the time she spent with her friends. Left to cherish her memory is her sister Susan Browne of Logan, Utah, her niece; Amanda Willis, cousins and many great friends. Judy is preceded in death by her parents, and her brother Richard Valentine.
