Judy Briney

Judy Briney, 81, of Marshalltown, passed away on Friday, October 23rd, 2026 in the comfort of her home.

Funeral services for Judy will be held on Wednesday, October 28th, 2026 at 10:30 a.m. at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home in Marshalltown. Visitation will be on Tuesday, October 27th, 2026 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. also at the funeral home. Memorials may be directed to the family. Judy Ann Jubeck was born on July 8th, 1945 in Marshalltown, Iowa. She was the daughter of William and Rita (Drummer) Jubeck. Judy graduated from West Marshall High School in 1964. On July 29th, 1968, she was united in marriage to the love of her life, Ivan Briney (her real life Elvis). Judy worked at KIOWA for 30 years and part-time at Hardee’s for 10 years. Judy was an avid concert goer and she loved music, singing, and dancing. She and her sisters took a yearly trip to Branson. As much as she loved being a mother, becoming a grandmother was truly special to her. She doted on all her grandchildren and then her great-grandchildren. She loved being a part of every second of their lives and capturing the moments by camera. If there was potential for a picture to be taken, the camera was out. Judy was so full of love and joy, taking pleasure in the life God provided for her.

Judy is survived by her son Mike (Chris) Briney. Grandchildren: Ryan (Whitney) Paul, Jen (Eric) Frye, Travis (Allyson) Briney and Austin Briney. Great-grandchildren: Nathan, Evelyn, Lyam, Emersyn and Warner. Siblings: Linda Wignall, Chuck Jubeck, Gary (Linda) Jubeck, Connie (Chuck) Kroeger, Pat (Jeff) O’Toole and Bill (Karen) Jubeck. Step-children: David (Brittany) Peelman and Kim (Kevin) Jacobson, along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Judy is preceded in death by her parents, husband of 58 years, Ivan, siblings: Barb and Arlene Jubeck, brother-in-law: Bob Wignall and stepchild: Donna Peelman.
