Judy Carnes

Judith “Judy” Carnes (McFate), 61, passed away under the care of the Iowa River Hospice Home on Friday, October 26, 2018, with her family by her side. A celebration of life will be held on Tuesday, October 30, 2018 at the Beaman Memorial Hall, 215 Main St, Beaman, IA, starting at 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the family to be used at a later date. For condolences please visit www.Mitchellfh.com . Judy was born on May 26, 1957 in Marshalltown, Iowa to Don and Leora (Bigelow) McFate. Judy graduated from the Ames School of Beauty with a degree in Cosmetology. Judy worked at Classic Cuts in Conrad and it was known that she had come with the building. She worked at Classic Cuts from 1983 until February 2017, During her time there she made many friends. On December 22, 1984 she married the love of her life Allen Carnes in Conrad, IA. In her free time she enjoyed reading murder mysteries and loved watching General Hospital. Her true passion was her family, she loved being a mother and grandmother. Judy leaves behind her family and many friends.  Left to cherish memory is her husband Allen, children Eric Carnes, Austin (Liz) Carnes, and Chelsea (Jared) McRill, grandchildren Ian McRill, and Emily McRill, sister Darleen McFate of Des Moines, and father Don. She is preceded in death by her mother Leora.
